“Advancing forest science through AI and international collaboration to address the global climate crisis”
About
A platform for young forest scientists worldwide
The Fourth International Young Scientist Forum on Climate Change (IYSF 2026) builds on three successful forums to explore AI-empowered forest-based solutions to global climate challenges. The 2026 programme broadens the forum’s scope to the full spectrum of forest ecosystem science, integrating artificial intelligence, digital technologies, carbon science, wildfire forecasting, watershed governance and human well-being.
Organized by leading forestry institutions in Canada and China and supported by international research networks, the forum provides a focused setting for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and early-career researchers to present their work, develop collaborations and connect science with practice.
The programme includes plenary keynotes, six thematic sessions, a Young Scientist Roundtable on “Future Forest Science in the AI and Climate Era”, and poster presentations.
